What Area Should I Stay In?
Mountains
If your trip is focused on hiking, warming up near a fireplace and finding some peace and quiet these cabins are perfect for you. You will be close to many hiking areas such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Pisgah National Forest, or even the Great Smoky Mountain National Park which will make your drive in the morning shorter. Many of these are in great locations to to take a day trip downtown as well too.
Downtown
If your trip mainly consists of visiting Asheville’s many breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, art markets and shopping areas definitely stay more downtown. Many places are walk-able to the AirBnB’s that I have listed here. These places may save you money on Uber fares or parking fees.
Where Did We Stay?
We wanted to stay somewhere in between downtown and the mountains. Our trip was going to have a mix of hiking and visiting some restaurants and breweries. We also went during a pandemic, so we picked a place with a fire ring so we could bring back some crowlers and growlers from local breweries to avoid some of the busy areas. But we got lucky and got to see a lot without much of a crowd. We stayed at Gather Around the Fire Place Cabin and had a perfect stay.
