Breakfast
Conscious Coffee
Looking for a quick breakfast or just some morning caffeine in the form of tea or coffee Conscious Coffee is the place. During peak season it can become busy but they get their orders out quickly. My husband got a bagel sandwich and tea. I ordered a coffee and the Blue Birch pancakes, which had blueberries, whipped cream and birch syrup (locally made from birch trees!). All was a hit! I would gladly go back.

Lunch/Dinner
Talkeetna Tako
Our first meal in Talkeetna was the Talkeetna Tako. This food truck is parked right in the heart of town. There are a few picnic tables out front. This hit the spot after a long day of driving and hiking. This is a must-see place to visit!
Mountain High Pizza Pie
After coming to Talkeetna the second time we decided to try out Mountain High Pizza Pie. This quirky pizza shop has plenty of seating and for the fellow pizza lover it hit the spot. We decided to try the pizza with reindeer meat on it. It was quite nice! This spot is family friendly and has something on the menu for everyone!
Talkeetna Spinach Bread
Stop at Talkeenta Spinach Bread for a light lunch, breakfast or a daytime snack. They have burritos and bowls that rotate but they are known for their famous Spinach Bread. Their Spinach Bread is wood fired drenched in roasted garlic, cheese and spinach. It was amazing! I could have gone back for seconds easily.
Shirley’s Homemade Ice Cream
I always love trying local ice creams, I mean who doesn’t? Shirley’s Homemade Ice Cream seemed to be the spot to try in town. They have some standard flavors but some local unique flavors as well such as Fireweed, a local purple flower. You can also choose from delicious looking baked goods as well.

Breweries/Drinks
Denali Brewpub
The Denali Brewpub is right in town on the main street, you can’t miss it. They have plenty of seating and a great outdoor area with cozy fire pits if looking to just order a drink and warm up. We just got drinks here but the food options looked great. They have both beers brewed by Denali Brewing Company and cocktail options.
Denali Brewing Company
Not to be confused with the above, these breweries are two different places! But owned by the same company. This location is a little outside of town but you will pass it on your way in or out on Talkeetna Spur Road. They have 20 drafts on tap, cider, mead, and wood fired pizzas, what more can you ask for?

Where Did We Stay?
It is best to stay in the town of Talkeetna, everything is walkable, and parking is hard to come by during peak season but available.
Camping
We rented a van with Million Mile Adventures. So we stayed at the Talkeetna Camper Park. This was a great stop to refresh at since they had showers, wifi and laundry. It is also a short walk into town so we did not have to move our campervan to go into town for meals.
Hotels and Inns
If not camping, hotels, inns and AirBnBs are great options. This town is small and books up fast!
